Charles D. Souza , SH&E Principal
Area of Specialization
Mr. Souza works primarily in SH&E’s Financial & Technical Services practice, providing technical due diligence for clients in the commercial and business aviation sectors. Mr. Souza’s expertise includes managing complex projects within the airline industry and managing large diverse operations.

Mr. Souza has been recognized as a change agent and is responsible for turning problem operational areas into high performing operations by employing sound management practices and Six Sigma.

Mr. Souza’s experience includes academic and practical knowledge of airline regulations and quality systems.

Background
Before joining SH&E, Mr. Souza served as Director of Engineering/Quality with Mesaba Airlines and held the regulatory role of Chief Inspector of the airline. Mr. Souza’s responsibilities included all aspects of Technical Services for the airline and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. While in this role Mr. Souza became a GE Qualified Black Belt and implemented Six Sigma into his organizations.  Previously Mr. Souza was with US Airways serving as Manager of Inspection with responsibility for a heavy maintenance base and several line maintenance stations/and support shops. Mr. Souza was qualified as a GE Six Sigma Green Belt and helped to reduce cycle times on the Heavy Maintenance checks. Prior to his inspection role Mr. Souza had shared responsible for line maintenance at US Airways largest hub with multiple fleet types and over 400 flights per day. Mr. Souza also worked as an aircraft maintenance controller with responsibly for all Boeing aircraft. Mr. Souza initiated his long aviation career working for Northwest Airlines where he served as Reliability Analyst, and in various technician roles.
