SH&E FEATURED PROJECTThe project involved a team of consultants working with the senior management of the airline to identify all areas in which structural changes would be needed in the long term, and where short term changes could be made to reduce costs and/or increase revenues. The changes involved the restructuring of the network to take advantage of the large catchment area of the Gulf and the interlining traffic flows between Europe, the Gulf, and the Indian sub continent and the Far East. The resulting schedule indicated what changes should be made to the fleet composition to optimise the revenue potential. At the same time the product offered by the airline, and the method of pricing and selling it, was evaluated with recommendations for change to to advantage of the better schedule to increase yield. The project involved thirteen consultants being
on site in Bahrain for a periods ranging from three to five months and
included the preparation for the implementation of the changes in network,
product and organisation needed for future profitability.
