SH&E Adds Safety Auditor Steven Halliwell to London Office

Leading aviation consultants SH&E have added Steven Halliwell as a Director in the firm's London office, where he will work in the firm's growing Safety, Security and Operations practice. Mr. Halliwell has the distinction of being one of the few Certified IATA Operational Safety Auditors and ICAO Security Auditors in the world, after completing his training in June 2004. His career in aviation began in 1987 after more than ten years in the Royal Navy

Prior to joining SH&E, Mr. Halliwell most recently served as Quality Assurance Manager of Safety Operations and Infrastructure with IATA in Montreal, Canada. He was specifically recruited to IATA to implement a quality assurance systems and processes for the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) programme. This role required in-depth knowledge of numerous operational areas including security, maintenance, ground handling, cargo, flight operations, dispatch, and cabin operations, as well as organization and corporate structure.

The IOSA Program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control system of an airline using quality principles and is designed so that audits are conducted in a consistent and standardized manner.

SH&E is a formally accredited IOSA Audit Organization (AO) for IATA.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Halliwell worked in a various capacities at Gatwick Airport, most significantly as Emergency Planning Manager. He was also employed by organizations which own and/or operate multiple airports, where he honed skills in safety, security and risk management.

Based in SH&E's London office, Mr. Halliwell will provide an immediate contact point in Europe to companies seeking services from SH&E's Safety and Security practice.
