International air transport consultants SH&E, the world's oldest and largest aviation consulting firm, will expand its offering to clients through the acquisition of "CAM," the Center for Airport Management. CAM, headed by Shelly Klapper, will become a division of SH&E. CAM has offices in Portland, Oregon, and Chicago, Illinois. SH&E, a full-service consulting firm specializing exclusively in aviation, works for clients across the industry and around the globe, including airlines, airports, aerospace manufacturers, financial service firms, governments, and international organizations. CAM brings specific, proprietary expertise in airport-based concessions, concession planning, and other means of airport revenue enhancement. "We are ecstatic to have Shelly's firm join us," said SH&E President Deborah Meehan. "CAM's concession and airport-revenue expertise is a perfect fit with our existing practices, and we expect the two groups to complement each other immediately." "This is a great way to grow our business," said SH&E Chairman David Treitel, "and we know that Shelly's team will make a real difference to our service offering and take both firms to the next level." Shelly Klapper's Center for Airport Management has helped many of the world's leading airports enhance non-airline revenues. From the breakthrough Oregon Market in 1987, Shelly and his colleagues have created a specialized consulting firm of renowned depth and service, now paired with the global reach of SH&E. CAM brings an array of long-established programs and proprietary databases, including its CP Steps and C&S Databases, as well as the "Store Doctor(sm)" and "Retail Assistance Program(sm)". These and other hallmark elements of the Center for Airport Management will all become part of the combined CAM-SH&E airport service offering. Specifically, CAM assists airports with all three of the major elements of a complete concession program: -- Concession planning, including physical layout, sizing, concept selection and location -- Solicitation and selection of concessionaires, including RFPs, RFQs, DBE and local vendor outreach programs -- Property management, with its ongoing concession quality assurance and performance management As well, CAM is now offering smaller airports turnkey concession management services, bringing large-scale best practices to airports that lack comparable exposure or resources.
