SH&E AIRPORT PRICING DIAGNOSTIC
SH&E has developed a pricing diagnostic
which provides airports with expert guidance and a level of assurance
that charges are being set appropriately. The diagnostic provides
airport managers with:
Access to the different skills required
to optimise this critical aspect of their business;
Indication of their vulnerability to legal challenge over
their airport charging policy;
Guidance on how modifications to current policies and charge
structures might improve the operations and economics of the airport.
Pricing Issues
The European Commission and regulators worldwide are increasingly
concerned about how airports attract new airlines, particularly
low-cost carriers (LCCs).
In the light of the Commission's investigations, many airports
may now question their policy towards low-cost carriers. While some
regional authorities are actively involved in the support of LCCs,
many airports use modifications to their airport charges to attract
airlines.
