SH&E AIRPORT SECURITY ASSESSMENTS
Given recent events, airports are intensely
focused on enhancing security. This effort is underway at many airports
on an internal basis, and new measures are being implemented to
further deter unauthorized acts. This leaves us with potentially
improved security, however, with very little certainty of a comprehensive
fix.
The Assistance You Need
SH&Es team of international airport operations and security
experts have reviewed safety and security procedures at more than
30 airports worldwide. Our operations and security experts review
existing airport security as well as new measures that are now being
adopted within the international community. Using a proven safety
assessment methodology, SH&E assists airports in identifying
potential security weaknesses and provides recommendations for improving
overall airport security for the long term.
Using our Fast Track Security Assessment (FTSA),
the SH&E security team can quickly determine the effectiveness
of an airports security plan, implementation effectiveness
and oversight that is in place. Using world class standards
SH&E will provide an independent, confidential and impartial
review of eight key security processes that make up
an effective airport security program.
Elements of Review Include:
- Organization of the airport security program
- Security systems that are in place
- Compliance with applicable regulations (ICAO, CAA, FAA)
- Implementation
- Adequacy of procedures
- Adequacy of oversight
- Front line controls to ensure effectivness
- Analyisis of risk management processes
Strengthening airport security reduces the risk of future events
and represents an essential step towards restoring public confidence
in the air transportation system. Our review insures that best practices
in the field of airport security are employed, and that airports
are fully compliant with all applicable regulations.
