New Directors, Analyst Added to World’s Largest, Oldest Aviation Consulting Firm

BOSTON. January 27, 2004. International air transport consultants SH&E, the world’s oldest and largest aviation consulting firm, has added three high-value consulting staff. As well, on February 19, it formally launches its new Washington office.

“We are adding to our team and growing the business,” said SH&E CEO David Treitel. “It’s always good to welcome back talent, to bring new contributors on board, and, of course, to expand our capabilities for our clients.”

Two new directors have been appointed, David Anderson and Joshua Schank, as well as a new Analyst, Maria Rodriguez.

David Anderson, who was with SH&E for six years in the 1990s, returns after his MBA at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and strategy consulting experience, both at McKinsey & Company and with Marakon Associates. Now with SH&E’s New York office, Mr. Anderson advises and collaborates with client management teams to develop and implement strategic, operational, organizational, and financial solutions to dramatically improve performance and value. During his earlier tenure, he had assisted established passenger and cargo airlines in improving the profitability of their route networks; helped start-up airlines to grow; consulted to aircraft manufacturers on product development and investment decisions; and had also worked with a number of airports on their planning efforts.

Joshua Schank, a recent Columbia Ph.D. in Urban Planning, joins SH&E’s Washington office. Mr. Schank’s work experiences include positions with New York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority, with the U.S. Department of Transportation, and, most recently, as a Congressional Transportation Fellow to U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton. Mr. Schank, who also holds a Masters from MIT, has authored numerous transportation publications and performed his doctoral dissertation on the utility of airport peak pricing to relieve airside congestion.

Maria Rodriguez joins SH&E’s New York Asset Management practice, where she will provide analytic support for appraisals, valuations, and related client assignments. Ms. Rodriguez, a recent B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, brings engineering and system performance experience from engine-maker Rolls-Royce at their Indianapolis facility.

Additionally, SH&E has relocated its Washington offices to larger, more central premises under the leadership of Washington-based EVP Michael Dyment. (See www.sh-e.com/news.htm for Michael Dyment’s 2003 appointment.) The new location is 1250 23rd Street, N.W., Suite 350, at the intersection of 23rd and M Streets, and will accommodate SH&E’s planned expansion of its Washington business.

“It’s great to have Joshua, and it’s great to have room for our growth,” said Dyment. “We’ve added strong FAA work to the existing World Bank, airport, and Information Systems clients we serve from Washington, and there’s plenty more we’ll be announcing shortly. We’re gaining speed and altitude, and things are looking good.”
